2011 Board of Directors Message

 This year, we also hope to greatly expand our popular Discount Program with many more local retail and professional firms, thereby giving you a greater choice of places where you can save money while getting great deals. In addition, we expect our travel program and legal clinic to see more activity in 2010.
The Board of Directors is keenly aware that providing these programs and upholding the quality of our events all come with a price tag. Fortunately, in the last two years, the Board has been able to eliminate most of the organization's debt and keep operating expenses at a minimum. It is our goal in the coming year to continue that sound fiscal policy, while doing our best to increase the assets of Unity House and maintain a financial portfolio that will support our mission for future generations.
Finally, 2010 is also an election year. While Unity House does not take any position in endorsing any particular candidate, we do urge each and every one of you to get involved with the election process and turn out to vote. Only by banding together and electing people who support working families will we ensure that Hawaii remains a hospitable place to live and raise a family. |
